For my first work in pastel, I sought to portray an individual whose life and legacy have long inspired me. I selected Leslie Parrish, an accomplished actress and dedicated activist, whose career and convictions left a lasting impact on both the arts and society. Over the course of her career, Ms. Parrish appeared in more than 100 film and television productions, earning recognition not only for her talent and versatility but also for the intelligence and strength she brought to each role. Beyond her artistic contributions, she was deeply engaged in social and environmental activism, advocating for civil rights and ecological causes at a time when such commitments demanded both courage and conviction. This portrait is intended as a tribute to her enduring influence, a celebration of both her artistic achievements and her unwavering dedication to justice and progress.
